Our Clear Vinyl and White Vinyl materials are a great choice for brands that need a flexible and/or durable label. Vinyl materials work for virtually any industry or purpose, especially if your labels need to adhere to a small rounded surface or if your labels are exposed to exterior conditions.
Our Clear Vinyl and White Vinyl materials are frequently used on windows, industrial products, oil-based products, lip balm, and other cosmetic tubes.
Our White Vinyl material is a smooth flexible vinyl film. It has high durability and moisture resistance for outdoor label applications. It also has good chemical resistance.
You may have come across the terms waterproof and water-resistant when researching the best wine label material. While you may see these terms listed together, they are not interchangeable, and knowing the difference will help you decide which material will perform best for your wine product.
A truly waterproof label is made of plastic or vinyl material, with an over-laminate (either glossy or matte) for even more protection. These materials will shield against water, and protect the label from shriveling, curling, or peeling. After being applied to a clean, dry surface, your waterproof labels can withstand full submersion in water for extended periods of time. You can make a splash with any of our plastic materials! Choose from clear, white, or metallic options, or select a white or clear vinyl for supreme durability.
Water-resistant labels will be able to endure moisture to a degree, but not entirely. While these materials will shield against water for a time, the look and feel of the label will be affected after contact with water is made. Water-resistant materials are recommended for products that will encounter damp environments, but not experience full immersion or long term exposure to moisture. We refer to these materials as having a “wet-strength.” A wine bottle that needs to hold up to condensation in the refrigerator or float in a cooler of ice is a great example. Avon Classic Crest, Estate 4, Estate 9, and Black Vellum all have wet strength capability.
For the most durable material that can weather almost anything, including UV rays, you’ll need our White Vinyl + UV Resistant Gloss finish combination.
The White Vinyl material provides ultimate durability by being waterproof, oil-resistant, and weather-resistant.
The UV Resistant Gloss finish protects your label from fading, so all your pertinent info says crisp and clear for a long time.
Here are a few things to look out for when preparing your art files:
– Size of your art file should be 0.125” larger than the final cut size.
– Background color or patterns go all the way to the edge of the artwork (bleed).
– Text and design elements should be inside of the safe zone, within 0.125″ from the cut line.
– Fonts sized at 5pt or larger.
– Fonts converted to outlines, and images embedded. (We won’t see them otherwise!)
– For image files, resolution is at least 300ppi. For best quality, we recommend 800ppi.
– Files are less than 100MB each.
Our team wants to see your business succeed, and we’re committed to helping you achieve your vision. When you call us for help, you’ll talk with an Experience Team member who knows labels front-to-back, who can answer any question you throw at them.
