Gloss or Matte Finish
Gloss or Matte Finish
Ideal for Ball, Bernardin, and other brands, our mason jar labels add a special touch to your sauces, pickles, jams, and other food products. Labels are available in a variety of materials and finishes that adhere firmly to glass and plastic, standing up to regular use in the kitchen. Waterproof materials like ultra clear plastic and white plastic, or water resistant materials like Kraft and Terraskin are perfect for jars that will be refrigerated.
You may have come across the terms waterproof and water resistant when researching the best custom label material. While you may see these terms listed together, they are not interchangeable, and knowing the difference will help you decide which material will perform best for your product.
A truly waterproof label is made of plastic or vinyl material, with an over-laminate (either glossy or matte) for even more protection. These materials will shield against water, and protect the label from shriveling, curling, or peeling. After being applied to a clean, dry surface, your waterproof labels can withstand full submersion in water for extended periods of time. You can make a splash with any of our plastic materials. Choose from clear, white, or metallic options, or select a white or clear vinyl for supreme durability.
Water-resistant labels will be able to endure moisture to a degree, but not entirely. While these materials will shield against water for a time, the look and feel of the label will be affected after contact with water is made. Water resistant materials are recommended for products that will encounter damp environments, but not experience full immersion or long term exposure to moisture. We refer to these materials as having a “wet-strength.” An example is a jam jar that needs to hold up to condensation in the refrigerator. Avon Classic Crest, Estate 4, Estate 9, and Black Vellum all have wet strength capability.

Here are a few things to look out for when preparing your art files:
– Size of your art file should be 0.125” larger than the final cut size.
– Background color or patterns go all the way to the edge of the artwork (bleed).
– Text and design elements should be inside of the safe zone, within 0.125″ from the cut line.
– Fonts sized at 5pt or larger.
– Fonts converted to outlines, and images embedded. (We won’t see them otherwise!)
– For image files, resolution is at least 300ppi. For best quality, we recommend 800ppi.
– Files are less than 100MB each.
