Food packaging labels showcase your brand and say something about the food you create. Our high-quality labels are available in waterproof materials so your food labels stand up to packing, shipping, stocking, and traveling to your customers’ fridges, freezers, and pantries. No minimum order quantities mean that even the smallest gourmet food manufacturers can have high-quality, custom food labels.
You’ve been making your signature granola for years and someone finally talked you into packaging and selling it at the local market. Or, perhaps you are ready to move forward on your dream of spreading joy to the world with your gourmet chocolates. Whatever the case may be, one thing is for certain: you need custom food labels for your product!
Custom labels are a unique and affordable alternative to printed packaging, and they look fantastic too!
Recycled Kraft paper, Estate papers, and white BOPP are only a few of the choices you have for your label materials. Each of our materials has unique attributes that can help your label stand out on a shelf and protect the product within. Additionally, many of our materials are waterproof and oil resistant, which ensures that they will hold up on the shelf, in the fridge or freezer, and especially where it matters most–the kitchen!
Our food product labels come in a wide variety of standard sizes or can be custom cut to any shape or size. The only limit to what we can create is your imagination!
We’re happy to consult with you to help you decide which materials would be best for your food product labels. We work with co-packers and gourmet manufacturers, so we’re intimately familiar with indirect contact food labels, and practical issues like condensation and durability.

Choosing the right material is integral to creating the best label for your food product. Each of our materials has unique attributes that can help your label stand out on a shelf and protect the product within.
If you have a frozen or refrigerated food product, try one of our vinyl or plastic options. Being both waterproof and oil resistant, plastic and vinyl are perfect for pantry items as well as any refrigerated or frozen products. These materials are highly versatile and easily customizable, fitting for virtually any indoor application.
If your product doesn’t need to chill in a Frigidaire, you can opt for a more cost-effective paper material! We have a basic white paper available, or a wide variety of specialty papers to choose from. Our specialty papers can give your packaging a unique, high-end look without the high-end price.
If you need to write a date, variety name, or other information on your labels, simply choose either an unlaminated paper or a material with a matte laminate.
With unlaminated papers, you can use a ballpoint pen, fine point or ultra fine point permanent marker, pencil–really any writing implement on those materials.
With a matte laminate, we recommend using a fine point or ultra fine point permanent marker. Since the laminate is made of plastic, ballpoint pens or gel pens aren’t recommended.
To determine your label size, follow these simple steps:
1. Take a piece of graph or printer paper and wrap it around your product.
2. Make tick marks where you want label to be.
3. Cut the paper down to size and wrap it around product again.
4. Repeat until your prototype is the perfect shape and fit.
5. Measure the width and length of mockup label in inches.
And you’re done!
Regarding artwork, bleed is your background color, pattern, or design that extends 0.125″ beyond the cut line of your label. Bleed ensures that your entire background is printed and does not get cut off.
Regarding artwork, the safe zone is the area where all text and design elements must remain to prevent this information from being cut off. Text and design elements should be within 0.125″ from the cut line.
Here are a few things to look out for when preparing your art files:
– Size of your art file should be 0.125” larger than the final cut size.
– Background color or patterns go all the way to the edge of the artwork (bleed).
– Text and design elements should be inside of the safe zone, within 0.125″ from the cut line.
– Fonts sized at 5pt or larger.
– Fonts converted to outlines, and images embedded. (We won’t see them otherwise!)
– For image files, resolution is at least 300ppi. For best quality, we recommend 800ppi.
– Files are less than 100MB each.
We do more than make labels. Our team wants to see your business succeed, and we’re committed to helping you achieve your vision. When you call us for help, you’ll talk with an Experience Team member who knows labels front-to-back, who can answer any question you throw at them.
