This is a continuation of our posts about colors and how they impact your custom labels and stickers.
When you plan your custom labels and stickers for an event or product, make sure you know what you are trying to communicate. If you choose to use the color red, this is some of what your label might say:
Red is the darkest of the primary colors (in greyscale) and also carries the strongest connotations. It can symbolize many things, such as blood, love, passion, strength, emotion in general. It can indicate excitement, danger, speed, courage, or aggression as well. Red can also indicate decadence. It has a halting effect, which is why it works for stop signs, stop lights and warning labels. It is great for warning labels, government labels that comply to OSHA standards, or products that convey passion and love. Red labels would help grab attention for a campaign for social or governmental change. Red, often associated with fire, is great for hot sauce labels or a “hot” sale sticker. Red can be associated with hope because of the sense of courage it gives. Labels for rescue services or fire extinguishers could use a nice dose of red.
