You work hard. You push through with cup after cup of coffee to meet the deadline of the project. You put your eggs into this basket, hoping to get this one project done on time. You sacrifice time and sweat to do your very best to meet the demands of your client. You edit and edit and make this project exactly what you believe your customer wants. You put in hundreds of hours of time to get every detail right. You happily hand off your finished project to a newly married couple and they are overjoyed.
A month goes by and you get a phone call from the happy couple. They thank you for the hard work you put in and the assure you that they are excited to look at what you have created. Wait. What? Why haven’t they seen it yet?
It turns out that they put the disc in the drive, but removed it before finding the case. It also turns out that in a stack of other burned discs, your project looks identical to last years Summer mixtape in what we will refer to as “Unmarked Disc land” under the entertainment center.
If you are a photographer or videographer, you are probably used to packaging your finished product on a CD or DVD that is custom made for your client. Maybe you have the case specially labeled. Maybe you use some really neat penmanship with a permanent marker on the disc itself. Why settle for what any teenager with a CDRW drive can produce?
Why not up the ante with a custom label for your CDs and DVDs?
You can put your business information, or even a picture of the event if you are producing several copies at once. You can include a phone number, website or even a social media account on your custom CD or DVD label. Your brand and hard work deserve to be represented well and not mixed in with all the other homemade riff-raff in your client’s world.
